About Asha
House Coaching
Hi, I’m Helen.
I’ve stood in your shoes, and I can relate. I’ve been a senior corporate HR leader in the UK, NZ, and internationally. I’ve moved continents, learned new languages, published books, and twice launched a business as an entrepreneur. Change is not new to me.
Why the name Asha? Asha is a female name meaning alive and well, happy, life, wish, desire. It’s where I aim to get all of my clients by the end of our coaching sessions. It's also the name of my dog, who is an important part of my story.
This is my story.
Funny enough, working with animals led me to take better care of humans.
Throughout my HR career, I offered guidance and sought external coaching for the managers and leaders I supported. But it wasn’t until I left the corporate world that I experienced coaching for myself.
My path to becoming a coach was circuitous. I draw from this when I work with my clients. The value I bring is 100% unique.
After 15 years in senior HR management roles across insurance, financial & professional services globally, I hit a roadblock. I felt stuck. I knew what I no longer wanted, but I didn’t know what I did — or how to get there. I then became my own coach, uncovering:
• My key strengths
• When I’m at my best
• What my core values are
• What gives me meaning and fulfillment
My next move surprised even me.
I retrained in Chicago as a canine massage therapist and returned to New Zealand to launch my own business. It was a success and I loved every minute of it. I gained new skills that continue to serve me today, and stretched myself as a public speaker and published author.
Working with dogs was just the stepping stone I needed to supporting people to shape and transform their lives.
On my return to Europe, I earned my International Coaching Federation (ICF) Accreditation, and launched Asha House Coaching.
Through my own diverse personal and professional experiences, and through the work I do with my clients, I understand the pressures and complexities you face every day. We work in partnership to build a space of trust and encouragement, where you’ll gain clarity on the direction you’ll take, and be supported to take action.
